I have led complex justice systems and community based organizations for more than 20 years. While the heart of my work is building hope within youth and those that work with youth, my core focus has been on transforming organizations and systems.
During those years, I saw two big problems:
Organizations and systems often have aspirational missions. But too often the mission sits on the shelf and is not operationalized.
Leaders are provided limited opportunities to tap into their own creative potential. They lack opportunities to connect with other leaders and to build connections across place, race and culture.
Working with my wife, Dreama Gentry, we support organizations and leaders from rural and urban America. The goal of our consulting work is to build the capacity of organizations to operationalize their missions. We use art and storytelling to engage and connect leaders.

Leadership coaching
Using the Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQI) and Meyer-Briggs personality inventory, we help your team communicate effectively, form strong relationships, and create powerful coping strategies.
Coaching and Technical Assistance using Results-Based Accountability™ (RBA)
We coach you to accelerate outcomes for youth and families through your organization using RBA frameworks for demonstrating success, developing strategies aligned with results, and using both population and performance information for continuous improvement. RBA is an approach to measurement that puts the focus on the ends (the quality of life results for a population) rather than the means (the output of a program or system). We help you to determine how well your organization is doing in achieving a particular quality of life result and where you might need to make changes. We also help you to identify what changes are needed to move the trend line in a positive direction.
Coaching and Technical Assistance using the power of arts and story to transform
We embed arts and theater techniques in all we do. We equip leaders to use their stories to build empathy, shatter stereotypes, break down barriers, and - ultimately – to achieve results for children and families.
